I love that this story book is full of something other than the same ole Christmas stories you hear over and over again. Illustrations are engaging, padded cover feels so nice - this will definitely become a family heirloom!

I was disappointed in this collection of stories. It is specifically labeled for young children but the stories are negative. They include, a fake Santa stealing presents from families, a jewel thief who eventually is arrested and a mean snowman trying to sabotage another. Just not what I am looking for when reading Christmas stories to my kids.

As always, the quality of the book was up to the normal excellent standard, just wish the stories were better.

These are not stories I want to read to my kids. It’s naughty and negative and sheds light on rich and poor in a way I would not want to introduce the topic. Among other things. I agree with the other poster. This is the first time I’ve been disappointed in an usborne book.

I bought this book last month and was really excited to read it during the holidays with my kids. I read one story about a fake santa and was pretty shocked at how negative, violent and inappropriate it was for a little kid but I thought the other stories had to better. They weren't. They are all about people complaining or stealing things and none of them have any sort of Christmas Charm. One has a character that is a little girl that is made into a villain just because she is rich. I wish I could return this but I'm past the 30 day window since I waited until Christmas to read it. I love usborne but this was shockingly bad, especially for Christmas book.

I read this book before reading it to my children and good thing I did!  Definitely not the types of stories I want to read to my kids at Christmastime.  They were just weird and negative. There are SO MANY other good Christmas books out there. This one went straight to the donation pile.

We bought this last year for our son, and I’m already looking forward to reading it again soon. It’s a collection of 5 sweet Christmas stories. Not the classical kind, but little Santa and snowmen stories that are really cute. For example, the book talks about a Santa having to deal with a “fake” Santa or a toy maker that’s a troublemaker. Also, it has a story about how Santa spends his day off after Christmas. I’m so glad we added this to our Christmas collection. Our son was for 4 last year and loved it and I think he’ll enjoy it for many more years.

the worst. the stories are on the dark side. didn't find it funny at all. in one the snowman tries to kill another snowman, all while that poor snowman was trying to change himself to appeal to others.

why is this even still being printed.

As others have said, every story is terrible. The couple 5 star reviews im positive are fake. I cant believe they continue to sell this book, they make tons of good books, this is not one of them.

This is a really nice and durable keepsake type book with the beautiful and padded cover. I like that the stories aren't the regular classic Rudolph, Frosty, Twas the Night Before Christmas, etc. They are REAL storybooks with real lessons to learn outside of the same ole Christmas stories.
I absolutely LOVE the regular Christmas stories as well, but I would not have purchased this book if I were purchasing those same stories again.
I also only left this review because I think it is wild how people are tearing down this book saying it shouldn't be printed and anyone who likes it MUST be leaving a fake review. Don't let a sour opinion affect whether or not you'd purchase this book. They DEFINITELY do not speak for everyone just because they didn't like it.

I own a lot of Christmas books and appreciate that these don’t feel like anything we already own. It’s got nice illustrations, a cute red ribbon for marking your place, and a thick, padded cover that will last ages. I wish it was December already so we could start reading it together as a family!

My kids, ages 5 and 6, both absolutely love these unconventional stories. They are silly and when there is a question of good versus bad, good always wins out!

We like these stories. They are not classic Christmas stories but they are quirky and fun. I’m glad they are not the same stories as my other Christmas books.

I should have paid more attention to the reviews before purchasing this book.  As others have stated, the negative stories in this book were to the extreme. I assumed that even with a few bad examples we could talk about the lesson in the end - but several of them aren't even there or are a real stretch! The quality is great and the book itself is beautiful, but the stories are not something I want to read over and over again, especially as a 'Christmastime' story.
