This story doesn't flow quite as easily as some of the other phonics readers.  It does have some "flap" pages, but my 4 year old son prefers Raccoon on the Moon and Kangaroo at the Zoo!

My daughter is only two but she loves all farm animals so we decided to get this for her.  She loves reading the story and finding the duck on each page.  
It's becoming "that book" that you seem to misplace ;)

This is a cute book, I got it with the hope of helping my son to read. He still isn't overly interested, but he likes the book. There are a few pages that have flaps to open.

We love this book because of the phonics, but it is not as great as some of the others. The story is disruptive in flow and the flaps are almost annoying to read with. The illustrations in this book are poor. It's almost like they are poorly photographed copies of the originals.

'Big Pig on a Dig' is a short and simple phonics story. My son didn't use a lot of phonics books but the 'i' sound was one that is different in Spanish and he is bilingual so we decided to use this one. It did help.
The story is a little choppy, but my son likes maps and digging and treasure so it was a hit!

This is a great read aloud for toddlers. It helps to distinguish the difference between the b, p and d sounds. Those letters are easier to remember when they start writing them also. Point out the difference in the letters. Repetition is good. They will want to read it again and again.
